We are facing an exceptional situation and exceptional measures are required. Now is the moment to prove that we fully understand our role in the local community. Our number one responsibility is towards our employees and their families. Because our employees, their families along with their friends and relatives, they represent the community. We are the community. Together.

We implemented operational, administrative and health-related protocols and procedures inside ALRO premises in order to ensure the health of our employees, prevent infections in our premises, ensure a continuous supply for our clients and mitigate the negative consequences of this pandemic.

We decided to offer our support to Slatina Emergency County Hospital in order to help the medical staff in their fight against coronavirus. Other funds have been allocated to the law enforcement authorities and Red Cross, which are in the frontline in this battle. 

 At the current stage of the pandemic, ALRO is operating at normal parameters and has a fully operational supply chain.  

 

27 April 2021: ALRO will open a vaccination centre against COVID-19 inside its unit in Slatina

  • The Group’s employees and their families will be able to receive the vaccine starting 4th of May 2021;
  • ALRO received the approval of the Public Health Department to open its vaccination centre;
  • This is a further step that supports the Group’s efforts to preserve the health and safety of its employees and their families and thus to maintain all its operations fully functional;

ALRO  will open, at its site in Slatina, a vaccination centre for its employees and their families. The Company set up the vaccination centre within its premises in Slatina, complying with all the Public Health Department requirements for such facilities, and thus, received the approval to start the vaccination process beginning with 4th of May2021.

“Vaccination is the only chance we have to return to a state of normality both in our private lives and in business and we consider it is our duty to support the local and national authorities’ efforts to speed up this process and to offer our employees the opportunity to receive the necessary protection against COVID-19”, said Marian NĂSTASE, Chairman of the Board of Directors at ALRO. “We are committed to taking all the necessary actions to overcome this unprecedented medical crisis that affected the entire world and to supporting the communities where we activate in their efforts to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic”, added Marian NĂSTASE.

Ever since the beginning of the pandemic, ALRO Group supported the efforts of the local and national institutions to prevent and mitigate the effects of the health crisis through donations of over RON 1,000,000, consisting of money, medical and protective equipment. Furthermore, the Group implemented comprehensive protocols and procedures to maintain business continuity and to operate in safe conditions, at normal parameters, with a fully functional distribution chain.

 

16 February 2021: ALRO continues to support the efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic by contributing with another RON 300,000 to Slatina County Emergency Hospital, Dr. Victor Babeș Hospital and Prof. Dr. Matei Balș Foundation

  • ALRO continues to support the medical staff’s efforts to combat COVID-19 effects by making three donations of RON 100,000 each to Slatina County Emergency Hospital, Dr. Victor Babeș Hospital and Prof. Dr. Matei Balș Foundation
  • These sponsorships will be used to ensure the uninterrupted daily activity of the medical staff through purchases of medical devices and supplies, as well as to acquire specific fire prevention equipment meant to be used in emergencies
  • ALRO Group has supported the local and national communities and institutions since the early stages of the sanitary crisis and has donated over RON 1,000,000 to organizations involved in preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic
  • The Group operates at normal parameters, in safe conditions and has a fully functional distribution chain due to the complex procedures implemented since the onset of the sanitary crisis

ALROcontinues to support the efforts to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic at a local and national level through three donations of RON 100,000 each, directed to Dr. Victor Babeș Hospital, Prof. Dr. Matei Balș Foundation and Slatina County Emergency Hospital.

The donations will be used to ensure the ongoing daily activities of the medical staff by repairing and installing oxygen stations, purchasing medical devices and other supplies, as well as to improve the medical act safety and security by increasing fire prevention measures and acquisition of specific equipment required for emergencies.

Both in business and social responsibility activities, ALRO has assumed long-term sustainable goals and these donations, along with the ones made since the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, represent another tangible step in actively supporting the communities in which we activate and not only”, said Gheorghe DOBRA, CEO of ALRO. “The support offered to the medical system at this moment is a necessary action to control and overcome this critical, unprecedented situation that is affecting all of us”, added Gheorghe DOBRA.

ALRO Group has supported the efforts of communities and institutions involved in preventing and mitigating the effects of the pandemic through donations of over RON 1,000,000, including the current donations, consisting of money, medical and protective equipment. 25 November 2020: ALRO supports the hospitals in Olt County with two donations consisting of vital equipment worth over RON 170,000 for the treatment of patients affected by COVID-19

  • The Company continues to help the medical teams’ fight against COVID-19 by donating seven integrated oxygen flow and aerosol treatment devices: five to the Slatina County Emergency Hospital worth RON 122,500 and two to the Municipal Hospital Caracal worth RON 49,000
  • ALRO has assisted the local communities since an early stage of this sanitary crisis and has already donated over RON 650,000 to institutions and organizations involved in preventing and combating the effects of COVID-19 pandemic
  • ALRO Group has implemented comprehensive protocols and procedures since the onset of the health crisis and succeeded to effectively manage the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, thus ensuring the continuity of its activity in safe conditions 

ALRO continues to support the efforts to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the local communities where it operates and donates seven pieces of vital equipment necessary to fight against COVID-19 deadly effects. Thus, five integrated oxygen flow and aerosol treatment devices worth RON 122,500 were donated to the Slatina County Emergency Hospital and another two similar devices worth RON 49,000 to the Municipal Hospital Caracal, for treating patients affected by this virus.

“We have always focused our attention on the health and safety of our employees and today, more than ever, the health of our employees, their families and relatives and in fact, the entire community became our number one priority as we are part of it”, said Gheorghe DOBRA, CEO of ALRO. “ALRO was and will continue to be a pillar of the society, offering the instruments needed by the medical staff to support their efforts when doing their best saving the patients’ lives affected by COVID-19, thus reaffirming its commitment and involvement to contribute back to the community”, added Gheorghe DOBRA.

Moreover, internally, as well as at suppliers, partners and local communities’ levels, the Company continues to monitor the evolution of this sanitary crisis and engages to act quickly and efficiently to ensure its business continuity in safe conditions.

 

10 June 2020: ALRO continues the COVID-19 prevention and impact mitigation program by implementing additional safety measures

• The Company has introduced thermal scanning systems in its locations’ access points that allow personnel’s entry only if the body temperature is below 37.3 degrees

•  The staff’s working program has been organized in shifts to reduce the interaction between employees from different departments, and where activity allows it, the Work from Home program was extensively implemented

• The Company has extended its preventive measures protocols and procedures to its suppliers and partners, by monitoring the health of their employees that interact with ALRO’s personnel

• ALRO continued to support the fight against COVID-19 and remained one of the pillars of those in the front lines through additional donations in protective equipment and money

The access on the Company's premises is allowed after the personnel’s body temperature is checked through cameras placed at the gates’ area,  the divisions’ work schedules were changed to minimise contact between employees, an extended Work From Home program has been implemented and additional rest breaks were introduced in special designed places according to the authorities’ guidelines and recommendations, where wearing a mask is not mandatory, thus ensuring that the personnel can freely breathe to keep a normal oxygen level within their bodies. 

"The strict protocols and procedures designed to protect the health of our employees and create a safe work environment have proved to be effective, both in preventing infections and in securing the continuity of our operations" said Gheorghe DOBRA, Chief Executive Officer of ALRO, Slatina. "The new implemented preventive measures have the role of increasing the safety level in which we carry out our activities and to ensure that each of us returns home healthy to our loved ones", added Gheorghe DOBRA.

ALRO has implemented complex protocols and procedures since the outbreak of the COVID-19 health crisis, in coordination with the central and local authorities and compliance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization for industrial sites. All employees received protective medical materials and equipment and were instructed on how to prevent COVID-19 infections, factory areas are cleaned, sanitized and disinfected regularly, recommendations for physical distance and hygiene measures were visually marked on the premises, plexiglass panels were installed in certain areas, and the Company performes preventive real-time tests.

From an incipient phase of COVID-19 crisis outbreak, ALRO has also implemented contingency plans simulating the case of one or more employees are infected with COVID-19, thus ensuring that the operations are not disrupted and the Company remains fully operational and delivers on time.

Moreover, ALRO has its own private Fire Brigade, which is fully operational inside the production facility, as well as its own healthcare office and during the past months benefited from substantial support from its affiliated security company, Rivergate. All these entities are in full alert 24/7.

So far, the Company has also supported efforts to prevent and mitigate the effects of COVID-19 by donating over RON 440,000 and protective equipment, reflective vests and video thermo-scanners to Slatina County Emergency Hospital, the Romanian Red Cross, Olt and the International Police Association of Romania, Olt. Furthermore, ALRO also supported Bucharest Fundeni Hospital with RON 30,000 for the acquisition of testing equipment for medical staff and patients.

ALRO continues to monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 health crisis and acts with caution and quick and decisive actions both within the Company, by extending the health alert status within its premises and the prevention measures implemented, as well as concerning its suppliers and partners through specific measures and activities.

 

30 April 2020: ALRO tests its most exposed employees for COVID-19

• The Company has its own healthcare office, opened 24/7 that constantly monitors the health of its staff;

• ALRO is currently analysing to provide to its employees’ transport from home to work and back to avoid usage of public transportation;

• All the comprehensive procedures and protocols implemented until now ensured that the operations were not disrupted and the supply chain is managed as scheduled.

„ We experience exceptional times when exceptional measures need to be taken in order to ensure that all our employees work in a safe environment and go home healthy to their families. This is the reason why we decided to implement even more and stricter procedures and protocols, to test employees who are the most exposed to being infected and to ensure that everyone working at ALRO or coming in contact with our employees is safe”, said Gheorghe DOBRA, Chief Executive Officer ALRO Slatina. “Ever since this pandemic started, we put in place very strict protocols and procedures within ALRO premises aimed at preventing infection in our locations, protecting our employees and securing a fully functional supply chain and, thus we managed to keep our operations on-going”, added Gheorghe DOBRA.

ALRO implemented comprehensive protocols and procedures, in coordination with the central and local authorities and with the observance of the World Health Organization’ recommendations for industrial sites since an incipient phase of this pandemic situation. All employees received medical and protective supplies and equipment, such as face masks, gloves, overalls and were instructed how to act to prevent their infection with COVID-19. All areas of the plant are permanently cleaned, sanitized and disinfected. The employees are required to periodically (frequency vary function of the job area) declare their health status or any contact with potentially infected persons.

The Company is also analysing to provide to its employees’ transport from home to work and back to avoid usage of public transportation and thus to mitigate even more the risk of infection. 

ALRO has implemented contingency plans simulating the case of one or more employees infected with COVID-19 and thus ensuring that the operations are not disrupted and the company remains fully operational and delivers on time.

2 April 2020: ALRO takes actions to prevent COVID-19 effects and donates RON 400,000 to Slatina Emergency County Hospital

• The Company undertook all the needed steps to prevent and mitigate COVID-19 effects and to protect the health of its employees while securing a constant supply to its business partners;

• ALRO acknowledges once more its main role within the local community and donates RON 400,000 to Slatina Emergency County Hospital to support the first defence shield in the fight against coronavirus;

• ALRO donated RON 25,000 to the Romanian Red Cross, Olt and almost RON 18,000 to the International Romanian Association of Police, Olt.

“We face an exceptional situation which require decisive actions. Now is the time to prove that we understand our role in the local community.  Our greatest responsibility is towards our employees and their families. Because our employees, their families, together with their friends and relatives, they are the community. We are the community. Together.  

We decided to give our support to the local emergency hospital in Slatina, to help the medical staff in its fight against the coronavirus. Other resources have been directed to the law enforcement authorities, Red Cross, which are in the frontline of the fight”, said Gheorghe DOBRA, Chief Executive Officer ALRO Slatina.

“We have put in place operational, administrative and health protocols and procedures within ALRO premises to secure the health of our employees, to prevent infection in our locations, to ensure a steady supply for our clients and to mitigate the negative consequences derived from this global pandemic”, added Gheorghe DOBRA.

ALRO’s contribution to Slatina Emergency County Hospital will help the medical staff to procure the medical supplies needed for both medical staff and patients, thus ensuring the proper working conditions for the efficient crisis management of the COVID-19 cases. In parallel, the Company’s donations to Romanian Red Cross will ensure the funds needed to acquire the hygiene products and food for the persons under lockdown in their homes due to COVID-19 aggressiveness.

Another critical component in the fight against fast spreading COVID-19 is represented by the County and Local Police. ALRO provided support to the police force in Olt County area with protective equipment (i.e. face masks and overalls), high visibility reflective jackets and body-video-cameras used for limiting the spread of coronavirus.

In respect of the actions taken to prevent COVID-19 spread within its facilities, starting from an early stage of this pandemic crisis, ALRO has implemented an Emergency and Coordination Committee with the main role to supervise and monitor the health condition of all employees, with main focus that all sanitization and disinfection measures are properly implemented within the entire organization.

Among the comprehensive operational and administrative measures implemented within the entire organization there are:

• medical and protective supplies and equipment, like face masks, gloves, overalls are distributed to all employees;

• new protocols and procedures have been designed and implemented in the plants, in coordination with the central and local authorities, and with the observance of the World Health Organization’ recommendations for industrial sites;

• strict measures of cleaning, sanitization and disinfection of the locker rooms, common areas, cafeteria, offices were implemented;

• all the areas inside and outside production facilities are permanently disinfected;

• disinfectant dispensers were placed in the access points, cafeterias; cooked meals have been replaced with cold meals for our employees to avoid collective interactions at the canteens;

• all employees were instructed how to act to prevent their infection with COVID-19 and have to report daily their health status;

• split/ rotational shifts have been implemented to minimize interaction;

• employees’ health condition is checked daily before starting the work;

• contingency plans have been already simulated for the case when one or more employees are infected with COVID-19 and thus the Company ensured that the operations are not disrupted;

• business trips have been reduced to an absolute minimum and participation in events of all kinds has been suspended;

• visits to the production facilities site were reduced to minimum;

• the Company had implemented remote work for employees, where possible;

• the recommendations for drivers and relevant transport-related undertakings involved in freight transport following the COVID-19 outbreak as published by European Commission were already implemented within the Company;

• as a result, for the current phase of this pandemic, ALRO is operating in normal parameters and has a supply chain fully operational.
