Alro successfully completes Upgrade of Cold Rolling Mill

Zurich/Bucharest, 29 July 2008: Vimetco NV (LSE: VICO), the global producer of primary and processed aluminium products, today announces the commissioning of Alro's Cold Rolling Mill in Slatina, Romania, following a USD 4.8 million investment to modernise the unit.
The enhancements to the mill, which were implemented in association with FATA Hunter, will double the mill's processing capacity to 36,000tpa and also improve the quality of flat rolled products such as sheets and coils, meaning the facility's performance will rank amongst the highest of modern mills in operation.

The mill is now under the full control of Alro's operators and engineers following successful system checks and demonstration of performance parameters. It has been running at full capacity since the end of April.
