Alro Slatina receives Excellency Award “Corporate Social Responsibility” from Romanian Chamber of Commerce

Zurich, December 6th 2007 - The aluminium producer Alro SA received the Excellency Award "Corporate Social Responsibility" for 2007 from the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR). The award was presented on November 29 at the Excellency Top in Business event honouring corporate vision, courage and responsibility.

Alro was recognised for its continuing contributions to the economic development in Romania and in particular regionally, offering employment to more than 3,600 staff in and around Slatina. The company’s forward-looking environmental orientation, its focus on training programs and social responsibility earned it additional points in the run up to the award ceremony. With more than US$ 3 million in charitable contributions, Alro is sure to set a stellar example for other companies.
