On September 26, ALRO officials met with Unione Industriali Torino representatives. Below is the press release of The Turin Industrial Union:

TURIN - REFERENCE POINT FOR ITALO-ROMANIAN COLLABORATION IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR

Today's initiative of The Turin Industrial Uniontogether with the Embassy of Romania in Italy and the  General Consulate of Romania in Turin aims to stimulate the development of bilateral industrial and trade relations.

On this occasion, the Romanian group ALRO, one of the main aluminum producers in Europe, interested in addressing the realities of the Italian aerospace sector, was presented.

The opportunities for Italian-Romanian collaboration in the industrial sector, starting from the strong industrial profiles of Romania and the Piedmont Region, were at the heart of today's meeting, organized by The Turin Industrial Union, the Embassy of Romania in Italy and the General Consulate of Romania in Turin.

In particular, given the consolidation of Turin's importance as a hub for the Italian aerospace industry, the Romanian diplomatic mission in Rome invited to the event the Romanian company ALRO, one of the largest aluminum producers in Europe in terms of production capacity, which presented its vision, products and business development strategy in front of Italian leaders in the industrial sector, such as the Leonardo Group, Stellantis, Prysmian, Altec Space, Ansaldo, Brembo or Collins Aerospace.

According to HE Gabriela Dancau, Ambassador of Romania in Italy, "the problems in supply chains over the past three years have highlighted the need to re-create European autonomy in key industrial areas, which can be achieved by strengthening links between European industrial companies. One of the priorities of my mandate is to support cooperation between Italian industrial leaders and large Romanian companies, such as ALRO, which managed to become regional champion in Central and Eastern Europe. I am delighted that, in collaboration with The Turin Industrial Union, we were able to present today an example of Romanian excellence in the industrial sector."

"The already solid relations of the Turin entrepreneurial system with the Romanian industrial environment", commented the president of the The Turin Industrial Union, Giorgio Marsiaj,"are constantly developing and I see many opportunities for growth  in sectors such as mechatronics, electronics or informatics, as well as in other branches of the processing industry of great tradition in Turin, which today finds one of the highest expressions in the aerospace sector, by combining production with technological development and research. A particularly attractive field for companies such as ALRO, the protagonist of today's meeting, one of the European leaders in the production of such a precious material for this industrial sector - but not only - as aluminium”.

The investments over USD 885 million made over the last 20 years by ALRO in state-of-the-art technology, in increasing operational efficiency and in environmental protection, have allowed the company to diversify its product portfolio, focusing on high and very high value-added aluminium and to enter sophisticated markets, such as the automotive industry, aerospace and naval.

These investments have also brought product quality certifications, such as compliance with international quality management standards for the aeronautical and defense industry, NADCAP certification or business sustainability certification, ASI Performance Standards.

"ALRO is a Romanian company with almost 60 years of uninterrupted activity in the aluminium industry and which had the ability to adapt and evolve in a highly competitive international environment. We thank Her Excellency, Ambassador Gabriela Dancău and Mr. Georgio Marsiaj, the President of The Turin Industrial Union, for the opportunity to present our extensive portfolio of products and services on the Italian market and we appreciate the interest of the Italian companies present at the event", said ALRO representatives.
