Alro confirms the death by drowning of one of its employees in Sierra Leone

Slatina, 3 August 2014 - Alro S.A. (BVB: ALR, “the Company” or “Alro) regretfully confirms that one of the Romanian employees of its subsidiary Sierra Mineral Holding 1 Ltd. (SMHL) lost his life in a drowning accident, occurred in the lake from the building complex of the mining operator in Sierra Leone. Our Company took all the necessary measures and repatriated the body. Alro underlines that the death was accidental, and did not occur due to the Ebola virus. At this moment, the virus didn’t affect the population in the perimeter of the mining operations of SMHL. The Company took all the necessary measures to protect its employees and is carefully monitoring the activity in the area of its bauxite mines, being prepared to act further depending on the evolution of the situation.
